Recent Purchases

Not much happening yet!

When I started this project I had no N-gauge stock at all so wIth 18 staging roads to fill, I have to start buying now. And who can resist? To go out and buy all of the stock at once would leave a hefty dent in my bank balance so I'm buying gradually over a period of time - starting right now. And anyway, I want to get something rolling.

With the advancement in modern technology, particularly with DCC and sound chips in N-gauge, it does not make much sense to buy too much in the way of locos until I need them. I will mainly be concentrating on freight stock and Superliners.

I am afraid that all of my time is currently being spent on the layout so there is no workbench project in terms of rolling stock. I have purchased various items from Athearn, Kato and the like. I have purchased four Kato P42s together with the corresponding sound chips from MRC. Can't wait to get these on the workbench. I also purchased 16 Kato Superliners complete with the interior lighting systems. To go with these purchases , I also have an end of train device that I intend to experiment with.

I have purchased a number of freight vehicles, generally to form manifests. There is one coal train (I have a record of an empty coal train speeding down the Columbia River Gorge, not sure about why / where to & from etc. but I couldn't resist them as they were on special offer at Model Junction). i also have a train of Kato intermodal stock.

As I say, nothing as yet is detailed or even weathered. I promise to list my purchases on here at some point but the thought of making out a list bores me to tears! It's got to be done though if for no other reason than insurance purposes. When some of the projects are completed, I hope to include them in this section together with some videos.
