| EMD | Electro-Motive Diesel - the world's largest builder of diesel-electric railroad locomoives (and manufacturers of the Class 66 / JT42CWRM which has changed the face of British railroading). Bought from General Motors by Greenbriar Equity LLC & Berkshire Partners LLC (4th April 2005). Seems to have some what fallen behind GE in North American railroading. |
| GE - General Electric Transportation | GE's Railway Locomotive Website. Rubbish website but with the Dash-9, AC4400 and the new Gevos, GE seems to be leading the field in railroad locomotive design and construction. |
