Electrical Warehouse - West London

Background

This model, also intended for my north London layout is based on a building I found as I was driving home from work one night stuck in a traffic jam (typical London life!). Took some photos and roughly worked out the dimensions by counting bricks. Once upon a time I was a quantity surveyor and my first degree was in quantity surveying so I'm quite good at counting bricks.

Changed a few things from the prototype (see photo of prototype below). The main divergence was to use commons to all three of the warehouse elevations with facing bricks only to the office building. The prototype has one long elevation (the elevation with the two warehouse doors) which is easily seen from the main entrance road into the industrial estate. Because of this, it has been constructed out of the same greyish facing bricks as was used on the front office elevation. On the model, it will not be sited in the same manner so all of the elevations to the warehouse have been finished in the same commons brickwork.
