Lightweight Plywood Beam Modules Completed -August 2008

View of Phase 2 scenic modules with the Phase 1 staging to the rear .

When the cat's away, the mice will play (or in my case when the other half's away, I'll get the benchwork out).

The other half went off for a week with a Head Teacher friend of her's so this was my chance to clear the living room and fill it with portable benchwork modules. I think the room looks better like this.

It took about an hour and fifteen minutes to gather the modules and legs from various places around the house and erect them. Considering I was by myself, I was quite pleased with the timing; I reckon on the same amount of time at an exhibition with a team of two / three. The modules went together easily enough though I could have done with a bit of working space at the two ends - we live and learn. The single biggest job was to level the boards with the adjustable feet.

A similar view at the other end.
A full frontal (as it were) .
Views from inside the operating well .

I hope the well is wide enough to take into account middle age spread.

I don't use coach bolts to secure the Phase 1 staging modules any more. I just clip them together. Much quicker.

The underside of the staging showing the clips .

What the public are likely to see.
The photo below d etails the butt hinge at the internal module joints (The pin pulls out to allow the two modules to be separated).
